Frankreich bringt mittlerweile immer mehr Black Metal Bands hervor, oft mit einem herrausragenden Attribut, wie zum Beispiel „Blut aus Nord“ die sehr viel Atmophaere in ihren Liedern haben. Auch hier ist viel Atmosphaere vorhanden, doch etwas was in dem Fall viel exklusiver ist: Jazz! Fuer alle die Jazz und Metal moegen ist dies wohl ein gefundenes Fressen. Doch auch klassische Einfluesse sind vorhanden und vor allem fuer Black Metal sehr viele Melodien und Klangfarben. Doch das wohl herrausragenste ist die Art, wie die Jungs die Melodien und Instrumente verweben. So merkt man oft nicht bewusst den Uebergang von einem Jazz Part in einen Black Metal-Teil. Die Bridges sind fliessend und das Album kommt einem vor wie ein Fluss, welcher in der einen Biegung sanft dahin plaetschert, um kurz darauf in einen anderen Fluss zu muenden und zu einem reissenden Strom zu werden, der einen sofort unter Wasser zieht, wo man unterm dem Getose noch immer die Melodien aus dem ruhigen Part erkennen kann (Anm.Ralph: Danke fuer diesen malerischen Ausritt in die Natur). Ab und an taucht man auf um kurz Luft zu holen und einen ruhigen Moment zu genießen, um wieder heruntergerissen zu werden, in die Hoelle aus verschiedensten Instrumenten und Melodien. Es ist progressiv angehaucht, aber keineswegs chaotisch. Auch wenn die vielen Einfluesse manch einen verwirren koennen. Geigen, Blasinstrumente, Klavier und noch so einiges glaubt man rauszuhoeren, und vor allem die Jazz-Parts sind beeindruckend. Da ist vor allem das Lied „Erythème“ zu nennen, das erste „L’Encre et La Plume“ (Die Tinte und die Feder) ist eindeutig klassisch angehaucht, was mit Geigen unterstrichen wird. Das Einzige, was wohl nicht so schoen ist, ist der Gesang, bzw. das Gekeife. Aber es ist besser als das von so manch einer Black Metal Band. Das Album macht suechtig! Aber nur wenn man Jazz mag und mal Lust hat, Black Metal mit (sozusagen) „guter Laune“ zu hoeren. Die Jazz Parts sind genial, die klassischen Elemente dezent, und doch offensichtig eingebaut und die Black Metal-Teile sind alles andere als zu verachten. Fuer alle die nichts gegen einen gelungenen Genre-Mix haben, offen fuer Neues sind und natuerlich fuer alle die gerne Jazz hoeren! Ich muss wohl nicht erwaehnen das „La Rumeur des Chaînes exrtem eigenstaendig sind und hier etwas voellig neues erfunden haben. Mir bleibt kaum etwas anderes uebrig als 10 Punkte zu geben. There are many good Black Metal Bands from France, often the band have a small extra, like „Blut aus Nord“ are playing with lots of atmosphere. Here is also many atmosphere, but also something which should be much more interesting: Jazz! For each one who likes Jazz and Black Metal a totaly new thing. But there are also classical influences, and for Black Metal, it’s very melodious, and they worked with many timbres. But the best thing is, how the guys interwave the melodies and instruments. Often you don’t regognize the Bridge between a Jazz part and a Black Metal part. The bridges are flowing, and the CD is like a river, which gently ripples in a curve. But after that it flows into another river and gets to a big stream, which pulls you under water where you still can hear under the noisiness the melodies from the gently part. Sometimes you come up over the water for breathing and for enjoying a calmer part. But after that, you are going to be pulled under water, in the hell of melodies, again. It’s a bit progressiv but not chaotic, even if the many influences can confuse sometimes. Violins, wind instruments, and many more, but the most impressing are the Jazz-Parts. Especially the track „Erythème“, but the first one ins’t bad at all „L’Encre et La Plume“ (The Ink and The Feather) is clearly classical influenced, which is underlined by the violins. The only thing, which isn’t that good, are the vocals, but there are many worther Black Metal „singer“. This album hookes you! But only if you like Jazz, and if you want to hear Black Metal with a „good“ mood. The Jazz- Parts are ingenious, the classical elements are discreet, but also apparent and the Black Metal parts are kick-assing. If you like good genre-mixes, and if you are open for new things, and of course if you like Jazz, you would love this album. And i think it’s clearly that „La Rumeur des Chaînes“ are playing very independent Metal, and founded a new genre. So I think i have to to give 10 points. I need more of this stuff!
